Biography
The Korean baritone Josef Jeongmeen Ahn studied singing at the Seoul National University in South Korea under the direction of Attila-Jun. He then completed a master's degree in opera at the August Everding Theater Academy in Munich and the University of Music.
He has appeared in opera productions as Marcello (La Bohème, G. Puccini), Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte, WA Mozart), Raphaël (L'Ancêtre, C. Saint-Saëns), Teufel (Goldteufel, SJ Hanke) and Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) , WA Mozart) and Malatesta (Don Pasquale, G. Donizetti).
In the 2019/20 season he can be seen as Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte, W.A. Mozart) at the Kammer Oper Munich and as Don Fernando (Fidelio, L.v. Beethoven) at the Richard Strauss Festival.
He is the winner of numerous international singing competitions; For example, in 2019 he received 1st prize at the Marmande Competition in France, and in 2019 the Lied Prize at the Debut Competition in Weikersheim. Won the Richard Strauss Competition in 2018. In 2016 he took 1st place at the 29th Tokyo Music Competition and also 1st place at the 26th Korean Voice Competition.
